Die Suche nach einem geeigneten WordPress Theme für „fakeblog.de“ gestaltete sich schwieriger als ich anfangs dachte. Ich wollte so etwas wie eine Art Magazin oder Zeitung. Ja, ich gebs zu, vielleicht sogar etwas wie dieses Bild Zeitungs Ding. Nur nicht ganz so reisserisch. Aber fette Headlines sollte fakeblog.de schon bekommen.

Was also tun? Klar nach WordPressThemes gegoogelt und zig tausend Ergebnisse bekommen. Das einzige Theme, dass annähernd meinen Vorstellungen entsprach war das Upstart Blogger Futurosity Theme. Einziges Problem bei diesem Theme: Eindeutig zu viele Kategorien und dadurch zu viel Informationsflut auf der Startseite. Auch auf der Artikel Detailseite waren mir in diesem Theme zu viele Elemente, overstand?
Ah, da tauchte das Wort zum erstenmal auf: Overstand! Letztendlich führte kein Weg daran vorbei selbst Hand anzulegen und auf Basis des Futurosity Themes aktiv zu werden.

Installation Overstand Theme
- Zip Datei „overstand.zip“ herunterladen
- Öffne den Ordner „Plugins“ im „overstand“ Ordner und lade die Plugins in das WordPress Plugins Verzeichnis (wp-content/plugins/). Aktiviere anschliessend die Plugins in der WordPress Administrationsoberfläche unter dem Tab „Plugins“.
- Lade den Ordner „overstand“ in dein WordPress Theme Verzeichnis. (wp-content/themes/)
- Um das Theme zu aktivieren, gehe in der WordPress Administration auf den Tab „Themes“ und wähle dort das „Overstand Theme“ aus.
- Gehe in den Tab „Benutzer“ und füge deinem Profil eine Beschreibung hinzu. Diese wird auf der Artikel-Detailseite in der linken Spalte angezeigt.
Bildvorschau auf Startseite
- Aktiviere das „Get Custom Field Values“ Plugin. Dieses ist in der *.zip Datei im Ordner „plugins“
- Gehe auf der Seite, wo du in WordPress deine Artikel schreibst (Schreiben –> Neuer Beitrag), zum Punkt
- „Benutzerdefinierte Felder“ (Dieser befindet sich unter dem großen Texteingabefeld)
- Wo „Ein neues benutzerdefiniertes Feld hinzufügen:“ steht gebe in das „Schlüssel“ Feld den Begriff „post-image“ ein
- Gib in das Feld „Wert“ die Adresse ein, wo sich das Bild befindet (z.B. http://www.deinedomain.de/wp-content/themes/overstand/images/beispiel.gif)
- Klicke abschliessend auf den Button „Benutzerdefiniertes Feld hinzufügen
Headergrafik „Fakeblog“ und Button „senden“ ändern
Bitte ändere die Headergrafik „Fakeblog“ (die mit dem Männchen), denn diese wurde für fakeblog.de erstellt. Passe die Grafik mit einem geeigneten Grafikprogramm deinen Wünschen an. Die Grafik heisst „fakeblog_title.gif“ und befindet sich im Ordner „images“. Die Größe ist 945/183 Pixel. Weiterhin solltest du die Grafik des „Senden Buttons“ bei den Kommentaren ändern, da auch dort das Männchen abgebildet ist. Die Grafik heisst „spek.png“ und liegt ebenfalls im Ordner „images“. Sie hat eine Größe von 74/70 Pixel.

Installation instructions for the overstand theme
- Download the *.zip file „overstand.zip“
- Open the folder „plugins“ in the „overstand“ folder and upload the the content into the WordPress plugin directory (wp-content/plugins/). Go to the Plugins tab in your WP Admin and activate the plugins.
- Upload the folder „overstand“ into your WordPress theme directory. (wp-content/themes/)
- To select the theme, go to the Presentations tab of your WordPress admin and select the „overstand theme“
- Go to the Users tab and enter a description for yourself. This description will be displayed on the article pages in the left column.
How to add thumbnails to the Home Page
- Make sure the Get Custom Field Values is activated. This plugin is included in the theme download in the folder „plugins“.
- Go to Custom Fields under where you edit the post in your WP admin.
- Under Add a new custom field type post-image in the Key field.
- Enter the address for the image in the Value field. For example:(e.g. http://www.yourdomain.com/wp-content/themes/overstand/images/example.gif)
- Click the button „Add Custom Field“
Please change the header graphic „Fakeblog“ and the „senden“ button
The header grapghic was developed for the domain „fakeblog.de“. If you run your own blog, please change this graphic to your own one:-) You can find the image in the folder „images“. It is called „fakeblog_title.gif“ and has a size of 945/183 pixels. The same with the „send button“ below the comments field. The button with the icon on it. This icon was developed for fakeblog.de! Please change it to your own. You can find the image in the „imgae“ folder. It is called „speak.png“ and has a size of 74/70 pixels. würde es gerne benutzen. Leider werden bei mir die Kategorien aber lediglich in der Sidebar der Unterseiten dargestellt. Auf der „Titelseite“ (=Der letzte Fake, VIP Fake, Design)kommen sie nicht mehr vor. Ich habe leider nicht viel Ahnung von WordPress. Habe den Code nicht verändert.
zuerst einmal danke für das lob. gerne kann ich dir bei deinem „problem“ weiterhelfen. doch zuvor müsstest du mir einiges sagen:-)
1. wo auf der startseite möchtest du denn die kategorien zeigen? die startseite hat ja einzelne bereiche. in der obersten reihe die kategorien. darunter dann „der letzte fake“,“mitmachen“, „abonnieren“, etc.
die letzte reihe (die letzten drei spalten unten) ist ja auch frei definierbar.
wie wäre es, wenn du die kategorien in einer dieser bereiche unterbringst? z.B. kannst du die inhalte der untersten reihe in der datei „bottom.php“ ändern.
du kannst dir hier eine modifizierte „bottom.php“ datei herunterladen, und dir mal anschauen, wie du die kategorien auf die startseite einbinden kannst.
als allgemeinen tipp:
du kannst die kategorien überall einbauen, indem du einfach „wp_list_cats“ aufrufst. eine genauere beschreibung findest du im deutschen wordpress forum
ich hoffe das hilft dir weiter. bei weiteren fragen einfach fragen. ich bemühe mich dir so gut wie möglich helfen zu können.

Entschuldige zuerst, dass ich Dich damit belästige. Allerdings habe ich auch nach mehrstündigen Suchmaschinen-Exzessen („Problem-Kategorie-Futurosity“)keine Lösung gefunden. Ein weiteres Problem ist, dass ich absolut keine Ahnung von WordPress habe.

Ich möchte meine 3 Kategorien in der obersten Reihe darstellen. Wie bei Dir mit „Der letzte Fake“/ „VIP Fake“/ „Design“. Idealerweise mit lediglich den 2 aktuellsten Beiträgen in der jeweiligen Kategorie
Zu Anfang wurden Kategorien dargestellt. Allerdings hat mir die Reihenfolge (von links nach rechts) der Kategorien nicht gefallen (Und auch ein Zeilenumbruch hat mir in der Überschrift nicht gefallen). Die Folge war ein bei Laien oft zu beobachtender Aktionismus der in einen Exzess von Kategorielöschen und Neuanlagen und anderen Aktivitäten mündete. (damit verbunden: hat die Kategorie-ID etwas zu sagen?)
Resultat war: die Kategorien wurden lediglich in der Sidebar der Unterseiten dargestellt und natürlich auf den Archivseiten (auf die man allerdings nur über den Umweg der Seiten kommt).

zu deiner feintuning frage:
das Initial und die großschrift werden über die *.css datei angegeben.
tipp: öffne im ordner „overstand“ die datei „style.css“. wenn du dort die zeilen 583-595 auskommentierst oder löschst, dann wird die erste zeile mit normaler schrift dargestellt.
auskommentieren kannst du mit /* am anfang und mit */ am ende.

hi martin. das mit dem großbuchstaben am anfang wird über die „style.css“ definiert. öffne die style.css und suche in zeile 592 nach:
.single .entry-content p:first-child:first-line,.page .entry-content p:first-child:first-line,.four04 .entry-content p:first-child:first-line{
font-variant:small-caps;
text-transform:uppercase;
}
„text-transform: uppercase;“ ist für die großschreibung verantwortlich. bei weiteren anpassungen solltest du nach „first-letter“ suchen.

Allerdings bekomme ich eine Fehlermeldung beim Aufrufen einer einzelnen Seite unter „ähnlich gefakte Seite“. Wo kann ich in Deinem Theme da regulierend eingreifen?

wie bekomme ich die statischen seiten aus dem header weg? ich möchte sie lediglich in der blogroll angezeigt bekommen. oder wie kann ich zumindest steuern, welche statischen seiten im header angezeigt werden und welche nicht?!

wenn du die Datei „header.php“ öffnest, dann findest du in Zeile 25 folgende php zeile:
< ?php wp_list_pages('title_li=&sort_column=post_title&sort_order=desc&depth=1' ) ?>
„list_pages“ ist der Befehl, um die Seiten anzuzeigen. Solltest du das also nicht wollen, lösche einfach diese Zeile, dann sollte es funktionieren.
Wenn du die Anzeige der Seiten steuern willst empfehle ich dir die WordPress Dokumentation, dort ist alles genau beschrieben. Diese findest du für „list_pages“ hier bei der deutschen WordPress Community

when you write your post in your admin interface, scroll down a bit and you will see a text field with the headline „optional excerpt“. i hope it is called like that. it´s under the image upload fields. in the german version it´s called „optionale kurzfassung“, so it should be something like that. Enter your own excerpt text there and you´re done.

in order to get the same size of the image as the left column is, you have add an point to the „style.css“ file. the width and height of the images is defined there.
insert this in „style.css“:
img.title-image{
border:1px solid silver;
margin:5px 10px 5px 15px;
padding:2px;
width:430px;
}
after that:
edit file „home.php“ – in line 17 it says:
„c2c_get_custom(‚post-image‘,“
change „post-image“ into „title-image“.
and last but not least:
when you are writing a post, insert „title-image“ instead of „post-image“ in the „add custom field“ field. link the desired image and it should work.

Hi Robert,
it is only possible to show 3 categories on the homepage. If you want to show more categories, you have to add a fourth column on the homepage. Therefore you have to edit the „home.php“ and the „style.css“.
Your categories are „news“, „design“ and „typography“. Only articles, that are published in these categories can be displayed on the homepage. Another trick instead of adding a fourth column would be to publish your posts in different categories. You can do this via the admin panel when you are writing a post.

to show more than 1 category by column on homepage you need to edit the file „home.php“ in the theme folder:
e.g. you want to display posts from different categories in the first column. At first find out which „ID“ your desired categories have. You will find this in the WP admin surface. In my example I will use ID 3 and ID 4.
Line 9 in „home.php“ in the brackets you will find:
„category=3&numberposts=4“
replace this with: „cat=3,4&numberposts=4“
the same in line 13 in „home.php“:
„category=3&numberposts=4“
replace this with: „cat=3,4&numberposts=4“
This will show you the latest 4 posts from categories ID 3 and ID 4.
Your next question:

You have to add a new php template to the „overstand theme“ folder. If you look at the files „archive.php“ and „archives.php“ they should give you inspiration for what you are looking for. Otherwise check the WordPress Codex, the most essential part of working with wordpress. If you would search for „archivs page“ there, this is what you will get:

By the way, if you are on a post detail page you have the monthly archive in the right column:-) Hope this will help you out.

„cat=3,4&numberposts=4“ should work. I tested it out and it worked fine for me. Do the categories you want to display have the ID 3 and 4?
Your second question: where do you want to show the subcategories? In the sidebar on the article detail page? If so, please check again the wordpress codex. You can get an answer for nearly everything there:

I really like the design of your theme. The two things I would like to change for my application is the ability to display a full post for the most recent article in each category on my home page (right now they are just excerpts) and I would like to remove the drop cap and uppercase first line style from the interior post page – how do I do this?

1. Display a full post for the most recent article:
You can display all posts from a category in full length if you change „the_excerpt();“ open the file „home.php“ and go to line 22, 40 and 57. Replace „the_excerpt“ with „the_content“ and all your posts will be displayed with the full length. To only show the recent post in full length you have to write another loop. For more information about the wordpress loop please visit:

2. Remove the drop cap and uppercase first line style from the interior post page?
Open the file „style.css“. If you comment out line 583-595 the first line will be displayed with the normal font size without uppercase and initial at the beginning. To test it, write /* in front of line 583 and */ after line 595. If the result is what you were looking for, you can delete the lines from „style.css“.

sorry I can´t find any problems with the searchbar in firefox. The search bar is always on the right side, even after reloading your site. Tested on Windows with Firefox 2.0.0.12.
Maybe you should comment out all references to „apple searchbar“ in the css and in the „searchform.php“ file? In style.css you´ll find the id „applesearch“. It is set to „float:right“. This could be another problem.
Hope this will help you or give you a hint where to search. But remember. I don´t have the problem, when I visit your site.

Is it possible to swap the headline of the post with the categories? Right now the categories take up alot of space (in a black box) at the top of the post on the front page. I would like the headline of the post to be on top and in large writing and the categories to be under in small writing. Is this possible?

hi thanks for the reply sorry for the late answer, i think it has something to do with my connection i use a vodafone datacard and i checked with someone else and its the same with their vodafone but if you use dsl or another connection no problem! very strange!!

I read under the comments section that you helped Ladda with something like this. I followed those instructions but it hasn’t seemed to have helped.

First, thanks for this great theme, I really love it. I am brand new to WordPress and just installed it tonight. The first thing I wanted to do was get Overstand up and working. The install was good, and the theme is in place and looks nice, but I have a problem. I cannot get the sidebar to display in this Overstand theme. on the homepage no sidebar is implemented, because it should look like a magazine. if you go on an article detail page you have the sidebar on the right side. the file for the right sidebar is called „sidebar.php“. if you want to change the contents of the sidebar you have to edit the „sidebar.php“ to your needs. compare it to the „sidebar.php“ of the templates, where it is shown as you like. copy and paste it, ready to go.

the only way i know is to cut the URL after xxx characters. but i don´t know a good way to do it, because you don´t know where to cut. another possibility is to replace the url with an underlined word called „link“ for example.
or you just use google to search. here is a plugin:

or you search in google like this:
long url comments wordpress. This gives you a lot of results. Sorry, but I don´t earn any money with the theme. People don´t even think about spending some bucks via paypal. Maybe I will turn this theme in an extended version as a payable donwload with a much better support.

I have a problem with this theme on my blog. If a user posts a really long URL on my Overstand theme, the text extends out past the colored comment area. Is there a way to fix it?

Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions. Actually, I was able to get an appropriate minimalistic sidebar on my front page that has a few necessary items (login and translator) and yet preserves the wonderful magazine look of this great theme. Blog is in early stages of construction, but you can visit if you like.
As to the issue with long strings of text (especially URLs) extending out of the comment area, I found a nice solution. Open „style.css“ and locate the „#comments“ section. Now, just add „overflow:hidden;“ (no quotes) so it looks like this:

margin-top:24px;
width:465px;
overflow:hidden;
}
That will stop the string of text when it reaches the right edge of the comment area. If it is a live link, it will continue to be clickable. Best of all, the page stays neat and clean looking.
Hope this helps others. You might try it here to see it fix the links above. Or come to my blog and add a long url or string comment to my first article and see it in action there. Either way, once again, thanks so much for an outstanding theme and for your kindness.

öffne die datei „home.php“ und schaue nach, welche kategorien abgerufen werden. bevor du das machst, öffne deine wordpress administration und schaue unter dem punkt „verwalten“ -> „kategorien“ nach, welche ID´s die gewünschten kategorien besitzen. diese musst du dann in der home.php einfügen.
zeile 9 in „home.php“:
category=3&numberposts=1
zeile 13 in „home.php“:
category=3&numberposts=1
hier musst du dann jeweils die kategorie id eingeben. also statt der „3“ jeweils deine gewünschte ID.

danke für deine schnelle Antwort. Das habe ich bereits gemacht und es funktioniert auch. Außer eben in der rechten Spalte. Dort werden mir je nach gewählter Kategorie mehrere nebeneinander oder überlappend angezeigt. In den beiden anderen Spalten jedoch nicht. In der Home PHP habe ich natürlich nur jeweils eine ID eingetragen. Weiß jetzt nicht so recht weiter :-(

Hey, nice theme you uploaded there but indeed I have a few problems need to be sorted out quickly.
After the installation as usual I viewed my site but apparently it only displayed those post that were uncategorized while my categorized posts missing.
The column seemed to be resize to become smaller and the top 2nd and 3rd column were missing. Any solution for this?

I am having a couple of problems:
1) On my main Blog page it only lists my two most recent blog entries. This is no doubt due to the fact that all my blog entries currently have the same category assigned: „blog“
So my first question is: how did you intend site visitors to reach blog entries that are NOT displayed on the main blog page?
2: My second problem is, I hope, much easier. On the right hand side where the blog pages are listed…I have 3 pages Welcome, Blog and Contact….currently there are no spaces between these words…why is that happening? Do you think it has something to do with the width of the movie I have playing in the middle column? How do I fix this?

Just as an update…I’ve been able to work around some of the issues I brought up in my earlier comment.
Basically I made several edits to the home.php and CSS files so that it now shows ALL my posts but only from one category – that’s a limitation I will have to live with.
In the CSS files I made the columns much wider since I am now only showing one categories postings, not three.
I still have the problem with the blog post page itself where in the sidebar all 3 of my listed pages are squeezed together with no space in between them.
Also, I noticed that even on your site the page listing above the search bar is very cramped. That’s my next little project to see if I can come up with some simple solution since I am no php expert that’s for sure!
But first I still need to check these CSS and page layout changes I made in Internet Explorer on a PC since I work on a Mac in Firefox.

I have followed your advice for changing what is displayed on the front page. But it just won’t work.
When i tell it to display 15,21 it will only display category 15 but not 21
but when i tell it to display 21,15 ti will only display category 21 on the front page.

I am posting in new categories to see how it works. I have the uncategorized, and two other new categories but it seems that when I published something in all categories I can’t see all of my posts and in addition to that the width of the column is narrow (they all have the same width).
I haven’t used any images yet and I intend to write my posts in greek, I don’t know if this has anything to do with the problem but I say it just in case…

I can´t tell you, why the third category doesn´t appear. Did you check the „ID“ of your third category? You have to put in the „ID“ into the file „home.php“. Open the „home.php“ file and look in line 9,13,28,32,45,49. There you will find the positions of your categories. Line 9,13 are for the first category (on the left side). 28,32 are for the second category (middle). 45,49 for the third category (right side).
Go to these lines and put the values of your desired categories in, e.g. „category=1&numberofposts=1“: if your category has the ID 2, you have to put in 2 instead of 1. You find the ID´s of your categories in the WordPress Administration panel.
I hope this will solve your problem.

I am trying to figure out a way to have the header image link back to the main page – and as far as I can tell from my searches it is not possible to do this in CSS without some funky workarounds – and everyone suggests moving the image into the html code and linking from there/that way. I am not quite sure how to do this – do i insert the graphic link into header.php or will that throw everything off?

I have now changed the code as you suggested above. I can now get three columns to display. However, now all three columns show the same posts, even though they are in different categories with no overlap. Please advise!
So, I’ve solved my layout difficulties on the home page of the blog. Now I am having a problem getting any sidebar to show up on any pages at all. Sie müssen die Position des Suchfeldes anpassen. Dies funktioniert in
Wordpress alles über die beiden *.css Dateien, also „iealternate.css“ und
„style.css“. Die style.css definiert alles. Die „iealternate.css“ gibt es, um unterschiedliche Darstellungen im Internet Explorer abzufangen.
Die Suche wird in der „style.css“ gleich zu Beginn definiert:

Ändern Sie dies in folgendes ab:

Hey love the theme but I have a question about how to get the thumbnails to appear above the headings. I have tried using the get custom fields values plugin but cannot seem tog et the image into the field. All there is, is a space where teh image should be. Please help. how do you add the pictures to the article? when you write your article in the admin panel, scroll down where you can see „custom fields“. add „post-image“ into the key field. in the value field enter the complete adress to your image, e.g. „http://www.criticalspeech.com/wp-content/themes/overstand/images/title_of_your_image.jpg“ without the quotation marks. then it should work.

I too struggled with getting the right columns to display on the title page – I figured out the page IDs were the problem after many minutes scratching my head, then after I’d worked it out I read all the comments here and saw that you’ve told the same thing to lots of people. Doh!
The English version is great, I would just point out that there are a few German words still there – for instance „Artikle von…“ and „webseite“ in the single blog pages. I’m going to track them all down then if you like, I’ll send you the modified code.

Der Schwerpunkt der Page soll auf den statischen Seiten liegen, aber genau hier liegt mein Problem: die statischen Seiten werden nicht angezeigt! Ich weiß nicht, was ich da machen soll. Die Seiten sind angelegt, enthalten einfachen Text, Hierarchie und Reihenfolge habe ich soweit hingekriegt. Die Seiten werden auch im Seitenmenü auf der Startseite angezeigt, aber sie sind nicht aufrufbar, obwohl sie „veröffentlicht“ sind. Hast du einen Tipp? Gruß, Kathrin

For the title-image to work properly, you also have to change the next instance of post-image to title-image in line 17 of home.php that was mentioned earlier.
In summary, line 17 should be like this:

And don’t forget to make the addition in style.css that was pointed out in a comment here.

Great theme, it’s been exactly what I’ve been looking for ages.
Only when I downloaded it, I had all sorts of problems… I don’t know why this is (It seemed like some of the code was slightly buggy or mismatched).
First the three category columns did not work properly. There was only one column on the left, which was the main column, and it was only about 300px in width. I had other categories with posts in them, but the other columns did not show.
Now I can’t seem to post thumbnail images on the homepage. I did exactly as told, to put „post-image“ in custom key and then the value.
Can someone offer a helpful solution?

I have three categories: News, Webisodes, Cast.
There doesn’t seem to be category IDs besides the actual names. I followed the documentation instructions but just the word comes up, not a ID #.
I have edited the home.php file with each cat listed as:

As you can see, the only cat it lists is NEWS. I am so confused and would love your help. Code is not my forte. :( Thank you!
Well, I just put random numbers in there until it worked out right…I guess that will hold strong??? And somehow the News section carries all the stories…which is nice, but not on purpose.

you have to fill in the ID number of your category, not the category name,e.g. if your category „News“ has the ID 3, you have to fill in the number into the home.php file like this:

This means that the latest 3 posts from category „News“ will be shown on the blog.

I’m trying to change the image that currently reads BLOGTITLE, i’ve created another image in the size that you prescribed (945 by 183 pixels), and uploaded that via FTP to the images folder in the overstand theme.
then i went to style.css to try to change it, but i have been unsuccessful!

Did you just overwrite the old header image? The image should be in the following theme folder:overstand/images
Do you use jpeg or gif? Is the path in the css file correct? This is the section where you should replace the image:

wirklich ein fantastisches Theme. Leider habe ich dasselbe Problem wie viele andere: doppelte Kategorieanzeige auf der Startseite (i.e. die erste Kategorie und damit auch der erste Artikel werden doppelt angezeigt) und überlappende Headlines. Die Bilderanzeige funktioniert auch nicht, aber das scheint wohl eher am Plugin zu liegen?? also wie werde ich die doppelte Kategorie los, bittebitte?

ich kann nur Vermutungen anstellen, da ich deine „home.php“ nicht kenne. Es müsste dort der Fehler liegen.
Prinzipiell zum Verständnis: du musst die ID jeder Kategorie für jede Spalte angeben.
Öffne die Datei „home.php“ im Theme Verzeichnis.
Spalte 1 (links) wird hier definiert:
Zeile 9: category=3&numberposts=1
Zeile 13: category=3&numberposts=2
Die Zahl hinter „category“, in diesem Fall die „3“ ist die ID deiner Kategorie. Die ID findest du im Worpress Administrationsbereich unter „Kategorien“. Wenn deine Kategorie die ID „2“ hat, musst du die Zahl eintragen. numberposts bedeutet wie viele Artikel angezeigt werden sollen. in diesem Fall 2. Möchtest du mehr anzeigen, dann musst du die Zahl hinter numberposts in Zeile 13 ändern.
Spalte 2 (Mitte) wird hier definiert:
Zeile 28: category=1&numberposts=1
Zeile 32: category=1&numberposts=1
Spalte 3 (rechts) wird hier definiert:
Zeile 45: category=4&numberposts=1
Zeile 49: category=4&numberposts=1
Das Vorgehen ist wie bei Spalte 1. Du musst hier die ID deiner gewünschten Kategorie in jeweils beiden zeilen anpassen.
Prinzipiell: wenn du einen Artikel schreibst und diesem mehreren Kategorien zuordnest, dann erscheint dieser natürlich doppelt.

First of all.. great theme! Nice and clear layout. Although I have a question; I started to customise the theme and I do have three categories in my posts, but only one shows up on the actual site. I tried to find where the ‚ ID‘ is for the category, but I don’t know where to specify it. I read all the other comments as well, but didn’t manage to fix it. When the code calls for a ‚ UL Class ID‘ , it says twice ‚latestoneandahalf‘.. is this maybe the problem?

Zunächst mal auch lobende Worte für das gelungene Theme. Weiterhin hoffe ich, dass Ihr über die Weihnachtstage viel gutes Essen bekommen habt, und nun die Kräfte existent sind um Euch mit einer weiteren Frage zu bedrängen.
Das Thema der Zuordnung der Kategorie ID´s ist ja oft gefragt und beantwortet worden. Nur in WP 2.9 gibt es keine Kategorie ID mehr unter der Rubrik „Kategorien“, bzw. werden diese nicht mehr angezeigt. Wie mache ich denn jetzt die Zuordung?

Meine Anfrage von gestern hat sich erledigt. Die Kategorie ID´s werden wohl bereits seit WP 2.5 nicht mehr angezeigt. Es gibt aber ein Plugin mit dem Namen „Reveal ID´s for WP Admin“. Damit werden die ID´s wieder angezeigt und die Zuordnung ist leicht zu realisieren.
Besten Dank für das Theme. Wir haben allerdings ein bisschen was umgestaltet :-)

first I thank you for your theme. It is goood… I switched from “Default” WP theme just 2 days ago. I have only one problem, I have 3 categories (Rubrik in Czech language – “Info”, “Foto” and “Results”) But visible is only 1 category. (I have many posts in other 2 categories). What a mystake? On the home page, there are 3 columns, but only the first column is populated with one Category.
I am assuming – possibly incorrectly – that the other two columns are other Categories.
Is this correct?

Ein tolles Theme und ich verwende es nun auch.
Nach einiger Zeit der Einarbeitung (ich habe nicht viel Ahnung), klappt es nun auch alles ganz gut. Eine Frage habe ich allerdings. Ich verwende die Smilies (z.B. http://www.endgueltig.com/2010/07/29/sind-lehrer-akademiker/)und manchmal auch Sterne (zum Beispiel bei Reviews); diese sind mit dem Kästchen sichtbar (ich denke, weil es Bilder sind). Wie ändere ich das? Wie entferne ich den Rahmen um Bilder?

We love this theme but prefer to use the Categpry Template as the opening page instead of the current home.php. We’ve tried removing the code from that page and from index.php and replacing both with the same code as what we have in Category Template, but something is overriding the layout for index.php. I’m not seeing it in the stylesheet. What controls the style/layout of index.php?
wirklich klasse theme. aber 2 fragen/probleme hätte ich:
ich bekomme es nicht hin, dass auf der startseite mehr als 2 artikel gelistet werden (aus einer kategorie)
und das 2.: ich bekomme es ebendso nicht hin, dass meine linke spalte breiter ist als die rechte. es vergrößern sich die anderen spalten immer mit. ein paar tipps wären nett.

I really like the design of your theme. The two things I would like to change for my application is the ability to display a full post for the most recent article in each category on my home page (right now they are just excerpts) and I would like to remove the drop cap and uppercase first line style from the interior post page – how do I do this?
