Über die republica dieses Jahr habe ich schon hier und da geschrieben. Der Vortrag „Changing the World, One Map at a Time“ von Patrick Meier war absolut fantastisch. Eindrucksvoll, zu was das Internet fähig ist. Karten an sich sind unspannend, unsexy und trocken? Stimmt, aber nur weil sie oftmals leblos daherkommen. Also füllen wir diese Karten mit Informationen. Crisis-Mapping in unverfälscht.
Um es in Patrick Meiers Worten zu sagen:
Maps are changing our world in ways we could hardly imagine just a few years ago? This presentation will explain why, giving a real world examples ranging from Haiti and Egypt to Libya and Japan.
